Message from the Principal

Dear Vancouver College community,
Welcome to Mothers' Christmas Tea, the 2023 version. I am excited that this longtime VC tradition to honour the mothers and other strong women in our boys' lives is continuing. I am also looking forward to it returning to its traditional weekday format, a chance for many of these significant and often busy ladies to take a break and enjoy a little refreshment, pampering, and entertainment from our lads. At the same time, I am hopeful that you are all able to enjoy the new, cozier, and more attractive venue of Lannon Gym, as we have found it far superior to other locations as a special event space since it opened in 2020. Above all, though, it is my deep hope and wish that each of you knows how much you are cherished by your boy in that very special relationship that can only exist between a son and his mother (as my own Irish mother often reminds me!). As Principal, I am fortunate to see the results of your tireless work with your sons every day here on campus - in their impressive academic, athletic, and artistic performances, of course, but especially in their classy comportment and upstanding character. One last note: please go easy on the Santa character you will encounter at MCT 2023 - and apologies that he needs some fattening up!
Semper Fidelis,
Daryl Weaver
Principal
